As it turns out, and as I suspected Cataclysm changed things a lot for exploration. What this means is I will have an archive section for my old videos that are now defunct due to Cataclysm. Granted the videos are still valid if you did not upgrade or if you don’t have Azeroth flying yet.
Defunct Videos:
Dancing Troll Village - You can fly into Shatterspear Village (Now called Shatterspear Vale) and there appears to be quest objectives for the alliance there now.
Upper Ring of Undercity - Since you can fly inside the Undercity, getting to the Upper Ring is easy.
I also plan to have a memorial section for exploration surprises that have been destroyed after the shattering with info on what they were and how to get to them.
On the UP Side… I will have more cool easter eggs and neat hidden tidbits for you to enjoy!
So a little bit of info on why I went MIA and what the future holds for Warcraft Worlds…
I had heard about flying mounts being usable all throughout the world with Cataclysm over a year ago and had decided that with something like that on the horizon a lot of the things i had worked on finding would no longer work. So I took a break until Cataclysm finally came out. Now it’s my job to re-visit all my current videos and all the many more i have uncut yet to be put up to see what if anything has changed.
I will be posting another update once I verify the status of my videos and hope to continue this blog once again and show more easter eggs, unseen areas, and hidden things in World of Warcraft.
I finally HIT 80! Granted this happened a bit ago I had been working on getting to a point where I could explore again.
I have been reincarnated as a Bloodelf but am still a Warlock. Tonights post is simply an update to let you guys know I am back and will be posting again VERY SOON. I am in the middle of getting ready to move so sit tight! 5 NEW VIDEOS WILL BE ON THEIR WAY!!!
Sorry for the LONG hiatus folks. I wanted to wait for Wrath of the Lich King to come out before continuing to ensure my current videos and blog posts are STILL working (this goes for the non-easter-egg stuff).
I will be leveling to 80 and once I am there I will be posting again regularly. Here is a little tid-bit for you to think about while we wait! While questing I managed to stumble upon a WOTLK Easter Egg! Stay tuned for the blog post outlining this WOTLK Easter Egg!
I would also like to take the time to ask for support. Even $1.00 helps so if you want to help this blog grow please consider donating by clicking that nifty button on the right. And heck if you can’t donate then at least SPREAD THE LOVE! Tell others about the blog and my vids. More readers = happy blogger
In today’s post we will be exploring a hidden easter egg in Hellfire Peninsula. I came across this while flying to the Warp Fields on my way to assist a guildmate. I saw what looked like just another random skeleton sitting there, but as I got closer I noticed somehting odd…there was an object with the skeleton that when moused over read “Jar of Ashes”. I landed and approached the object noticing it had the little magnifying glass icon meaning I can inspect it closer. I click it and the following text appeared:
“Here is a jar of ashes. These are the ashes of my sanity, my passion, and my drive. All, utterly destroyed by themselves. May all those who look upon these desolated lands of Hellfire remember this fallen peon. He shed blood for the Alliance, and sacrificed for the Horde only to be driven utterly mad by the wicked and soulless ones who devoured what he held most dear. As they feast from his toils, may they suffer his wrath. Maybe not in this world, but in every world hereafter. It is my declaration, my solem oath, and my everlasting promise. I will avenge my suffering.”
A very dark inscription indeed… What could this mean? Does it relate to the Ashbringer? Or is there something more behind this message? Upon further research I came to find the most common and accepted meaning behind this Jar of Ashes directly relates to the former World of Warcraft Community Manager: Tseric. It is rumored that after becoming quite irate with a forum user he left Blizzard shortly after never to be seen again.
In order to reach this dark and gloomy scene, you will need a Flying Mount or make sure your hearthstone cooldown is up in order to leave once you are down on the rock. It is a very simple path and easy to see once you know what landmarks to look for. The coordinates for the Jar of Ashes area are: (45,87). It can be visited by both Horde and Alliance alike. The only level requirements would be that of Outlands.
Check out the video below to see how to get there!!
Today we will bring you our VERY FIRST inaccessible area presented here at Warcraft Worlds. The “Dancing Troll Village“!
I had heard rumors of a hidden troll village nestled between Moonglade, Winterspring, Felwood, and Darkshore. So with the help of my guild mate we went and found access to the village! Some interesting things to note about this village.
It can be seen via “normal” means as a Flight-path “visual” for the Alliance
There are 4 named NPCs located in this village all vary in level
Rumor has it that this area was planned to be used at some point as part of a quest
This village is deemed the main location for the Shatterspear Troll tribe
The Trolls are friendly to Horde and neutral to Alliance
The zone will show the player as located in Darkshore, which is Alliance territory.
Here is a topographical map showing the precise location of the village itself hidden in the mountains between the 4 zones.
The village can be reached from Winterspring on the continent of Kalimdor. It is helpful to have either the flight-path to Everlook or be at least unfriendly with the Timbermaw tribe in order to travel to Winterspring.
The following is a list of requirements in order to travel to the “Dancing Troll Village”
MUST have either a mount or form of increased run/travel speed
Having a coordinates mod installed is EXTREMELY helpful
It’s recommended to have some form of self-resurrection like an Ankh or Soul-Stone
It’s very helpful to have a healer with you in case you die attempting to reach the village
Take it slow, often jumping ahead or going too fast can land you in a ditch that forces you to use the unstuck feature or use your hearthstone before you even make it to the village
If you are level 70, go naked… you will save yourself repair bills
So some things to remember when attempting to reach this village is a good starting point is the entrance to Timbermaw Hold in Winterspring. From here you can find easily recognizable landmarks to assist in locating the “path” to the village. Always aim for the middle of any body of water you may see as it can save your life in game quite literally. Since the path to the “Dancing Troll Village” is rather detailed, refer to the video at the end of this post to see exactly how you get to it.
Once you have successfully landed in the village you are free to explore its various sights and sounds. The village earned the moniker of “Dancing Troll Village” due to a rather large and hard-to-miss group of dancing trolls. They are dancing in an area that seems to be set up specifically to party! Woo! The rest of the village has various huts and structures, a single cave with some mysterious stone tablets, and a lake with a troll fishing boat in it. The leader of the Shatterspear tribe Una Ji’ro can also be found within the village. And now for the how-to video showing the way to this neat hidden spot! ENJOY!
Hey guys, well it’s been about 2 weeks or more since my last video. The new job has me very busy and I have TWO LONG videos that I was in the process of editing and preparing to post before the new job started hah.
Both videos will be very cool and I hope to post at least one this week. I promise it will be worth the wait. Thank you to my viewers and readers and please help support this project by spreading the word about this site! For now enjoy this old version of the world map:
Sorry for the lack of videos last week, ran into a bit of hardware problems which have now been resolved! And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming!
Today’s video will show you two fun easter eggs in Nagrand. The first one is Snakes on a Plane. It’s fairly easy to get to since the plane itself is right next to Hemet Nesinwary in Nagrand. No Flying mount is required to find this funny scene either. When you come up to Nesinwary’s camp you see a crashed plane. Upon closer inspection there will often be 1-2 Snakes on the plane haha! And in case you don’t know, this is a tribute to Samuel L. Jackson’s movie: Snakes on a Plane.
Nesingwary’s camp in Nagrand can be reached via ground or flying mount from either Horde or Alliance towns. Coordintes to Nesinwary’s camp are: (71,41).
Today’s second easter egg is a bit more obscure as it appears to be a tribute to Sir Isaac Newton and his theory of gravity. You can only reach this easter egg with a flying mount as it floats over Skysong Lake near the Throne of Elements in Nagrand. Both Horde and Alliance can reach this spot so long as they have a flying mount. Upon finding this floating island you see apples littering the ground around what appears to be an apple tree. Propped up against the tree there is a skeleton with an axe in it’s skull. There is a story that Sir Isaac Newton came to realization about gravity when an apple fell from a tree. The coordinates to this location are: (58,26).
The video for today showcases both easter eggs in one video in the order I have listed their descriptions. Enjoy!
Today’s post will show you how to find the shrine to Starcraft: Ghost in Netherstorm.
While adventuring out in Netherstorm we came across a curious sight. It looked like some sort of Draenei gravestone on a piece of floating rock surrounded by pink crystals. It appeared to be setup like a landing strip almost. We land on the rock to have a closer look. Pondering what it’s significance could be, we noticed symbols flashing on the shrine itself. After a few moments watching the shrine, the letters N V then O A appear to be flashing and we realize it spells NOVA. Nova is the name of the Heroin from Blizzard’s now defunct game: Starcraft: Ghost. It is rumored you can sometimes see Nova’s ghost near the shrine.
Drysc a Blizzard poster wrote the following on the World or Warcraft forums, in response to inquiries about the shrine:
Strange Blue Shrine Floating in Netherstorm | 11:36, 20 July 2007 (PDT) |Drysc
Rest in peace Nova…
I close my eyes
Only for a moment, then the moment’s gone
All my dreams
Pass before my eyes, a curiosity
Dust in the wind
All they are is dust in the wind…
/tear
Strange Blue Shrine Floating in Netherstorm | 11:44, 20 July 2007 (PDT) | Drysc
Some say that under certain conditions you can see her ghost…
Pun not intended.
Things you will need before getting started out here:
A flying mount of any kind
A warlock friend if you do not have a flying mount
It’s helpful to have the flight-path to Area 52
The shrine is located south of the Arklon Ruins and west of Manaforge Coruu, at these coordinates: (41,82) From the flight master face south and start flying on your mount in that direction. You will see the groups of floating rocks as you come to the edge of this area and look for the rock with pink crystals and a single blue draenei gravestone. If you have no flying mount and wish to see, you could always find a warlock and some friends to help summon you out to the site.
Today’s post will show you how to get to the Shrine of the Fallen Warrior in the Barrens.
The Shrine of the Fallen Warrior was one of the first tucked away spots that I encountered in World of Warcraft back when I was questing in the Barrens over 3 years ago. I remember running alongside the mountain and suddenly seeing the zone name change to “Shrine of the Fallen Warrior”. I paused and looked around, saw nothing until I looked upwards. I eventually came to find the Shrine itself and pondered it’s meaning. There lay an Orc, with a strong blue aura. The eternal bed on which he lay bore the initials “M.K.”
After some searching I came across the website: Sons of the Storm. A site dedicated to a group of Blizzard concept artists. Here is where I found the meaning of the Shrine. M K was Michel Koiter, a Blizzard illustrator who passed away during the development of World of Warcraft. If you visit the memorial you’ll find a spirit healer named Koiter. His twin brother, René Koiter is also a concept artist for Blizzard. You can read the story of Michael Koiter on the Twincruiser page of the site.
After reading the story I was choked up, and I was in awe of Blizzard’s honoring their lost artist. I make the journey to visit the Shrine every now and then and I make a point to show new players the shrine whenever I am in the Barrens.
An interesting rumored fact is that the Orc Warrior we see laying at the shrine, is Michael Koiter’s BETA character to the EXACT pixel.
The Shrine itself is located at (47,29) just outside the Crossroads in the Barrens. Both Horde and Alliance can visit the Shrine and pay tribute. I have included a Video to show you how to reach this monument; a testament to a dedicated artist and hero.
